However, shopping in Chicago is a varied experience and there are plenty of more affordable items waiting to be snapped up by the discerning shopper at the city’s many vintage stores. Vintage shopping is a great way to find a truly unique outfit, and with clothing on offer from as far back as the 1920s, you are sure to pick up something that expresses your own personal style at one of Chicago’s vintage outlets.

As well as catering well for fashion lovers, shopping in Chicago will be an enjoyable experience for anyone interested in antiques. Whether you want to haggle for something truly original, or just want to spend awhile browsing amid the diverse and exotic items on display, Chicago’s antique shops are one of the highlights of the city’s shopping experience and a provide a hugely enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

There are a number of lively indoor and outdoor markets throughout the city. For locally produced, fresh fruit, meat and vegetables you could do no better than visit the Farmer Market. Look out for outdoor markets selling hand-made fabrics, trinkets and sweets; they’re great for picking up unique souvenirs and gifts for people back home.

Shopping in Chicago is a rich and varied experience. The city is home to an impressive collection of retail outlets, stores and boutiques of all kinds, and is becoming an ever more popular shopping destination for fashion lovers. It seems it will not be long before Chicago becomes as famous for its shopping experience as it is for its sport and music culture.
